What can we expect from the 2021 NJ gubernatorial race?

It’s back to the drawing board for one Republican gubernatorial candidate. This week, state election officials denied Phil Rizzo’s appeal for public matching funds. It means the conservative Hoboken pastor will also lose his spot on the debate stage, at least for now, possibly clearing the way for the rest of the GOP field.

Gov. Phil Murphy is riding high on pandemic approval ratings, but a lot can happen between now and the election. What can voters expect? Micah Rasmussen, director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University, discusses the possibilities.
