Watch party held to cheer on Olympian Sydney McLaughlin

Former coach and teammates gather at Union Catholic High School

Many of us have been glued to the TV, captivated by the Summer Olympics in Tokyo where New Jersey is well-represented. At Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains early Monday morning, a watch party was held to cheer on graduate-turned-star athlete, Sydney McLaughlin in the semi-finals of the 400-meter hurdles.

McLaughlin’s former coach and teammates were there to cheer her on. McLaughlin is one of many New Jersey athletes finding their stride, or stroke, in Tokyo.
