A controversial ballot question was approved by voters on Election Day. The constitutional amendment allows for a change in the schedule for redrawing state legislative districts if U.S. Census data is delayed because of the pandemic. New Jersey’s 40 districts determine representation in Trenton.

Democrats pushed the measure, citing concerns that a new map would be rushed, but opponents argue delaying the map won’t account for the state’s growing minority population. Correspondent Michael Hill reports.
