The Lab at Newark Symphony Hall, a new venture in fostering talent and careers

Theater and the arts were hit especially hard during the pandemic, so Newark Symphony is looking for creative ways to lure back young aspiring artists of color

It’s been the home of almost a century of arts and culture, providing a stage for performances of such musical legends as Placido Domingo, Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, and the Beatles. Now Newark Symphony Hall is looking to accelerate careers for the next generation of greats — launching a new program at a time when performance artists have never been hit harder.
