Social justice, especially in communities of color, is one of the main reasons Gov. Phil Murphy and many lawmakers support legalizing marijuana for recreational use by adults. But they’ve yet to come up with a compromise for enabling legislation.
All the back-and-forth has prompted a new proposal to allow residents to legally grow up to six plants of their own marijuana. The bill comes from an unlikely source, one of the state’s most conservative senators. Senior Correspondent David Cruz reports.
