Survey highlights black-white gap on connection between health and racism

Those who identify as Black make up only 4% of the nearly 254,000 New Jerseyans who have received COVID-19 vaccinations. Despite the toll the pandemic has taken on communities of color, a new survey finds that a large number of adults don’t see how health and institutional racism are connected and fail to recognize it as a predominant driver of poor health outcomes.

As Correspondent Michael Hill reports, it’s created generations worth of distrust and skepticism in health care systems and an uphill battle to get COVID-19 vaccine buy-in.
