State launches new health care exchange: Get Covered New Jersey

With so many people out of work, one challenge the state might face with open enrollment is high volume

Job loss and furloughs caused by COVID-19 exposed the fragility of the health care system. With insurance plans tied to employment, more and more residents are finding themselves on the hunt for coverage. This week, Gov. Phil Murphy announced the launch of Get Covered New Jersey, the state’s official health insurance marketplace. The timing is key, with the Affordable Care Act on the line in an upcoming Supreme Court challenge. Correspondent Joanna Gagis reports.
