New Jersey Blood Services is pleading for blood donations. It tells NJ Spotlight News the state is critically low on supply. In fact, the region is now at a two- to three-day supply level, similar to supply levels at the peak of the pandemic.
Fears over the spread of the delta variant appear largely to blame, deterring donors and causing blood drives to be canceled. In an interview with NJ Spotlight News, Andrea Cefarelli, Senior Director at New Jersey Blood Services said the shortage could last for months.
