Several Fast Food Restaurants Close in Cape May County

In the past few years, several fast food restaurants like Wendy's and Burger King have had to close in Cape May County.

Several fast food restaurants in Cape May County have closed in recent years, which officials attribute to the downturn in the economy. Three Wendy’s, two Burger Kings, a Papa John’s and two Kentucky Fried Chickens have shut their doors permanently. In addition to the economic downturn, competition from local restaurants and the seasonal nature of Cape May County have also contributed to the closures.

The area has also seen an increased popularity in Asian cuisine, with some new Asian restaurants taking the place of some closed fast food locations. But while several franchises have closed their doors, the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce says Arby’s and Subway are doing well.
