Medical leaders want New Jerseyans to consider the more than 3,800 people currently hospitalized in the state for COVID-19 before heading to family or a friend’s home for Christmas. Hospitalizations have hovered around that mark for the last two weeks.
It’s one reason doctors at Rowan University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine are welcoming the start of “Operation Saving Lives.” On Thursday, the university joined the list of COVID-19 vaccination sites in New Jersey and began administering the Moderna vaccine. Medical school faculty will supervise 500-plus students who will administer vaccinations, starting with frontline workers. Correspondent Michael Hill reports from the program’s kickoff.
