Gov. Phil Murphy plans to increase funds for the Community College Opportunity Grant program

Gov. Murphy made tuition-free community college for eligible students a permanent program Friday. The Community College Opportunity Grant program, launched in 2018, is now available at every community college in the state.

The program covers the cost of tuition for two-year associates degrees and impacts about 50,000 qualifying students a year, whose households earn $65,000 or less. The program is designed to help those who would otherwise have had to skip, or drag out their path to, higher education.
