Presumed GOP front-runner Jack Ciattarelli rallies supporters in final hours of gubernatorial primary

Ciattarelli is backed by the party establishment in all 21 counties— and that gives him the plum position on the ballot

Jack Ciattarelli, the presumed front-runner in the Republican gubernatorial race, rallied his supporters with hours to go before voting would close on primary Election Day.

More mainstream than two of his main challengers — both fervent Donald Trump devotees — Ciattarelli has walked a fine line by praising some of Trump’s policies, if not the former president. Ciattarelli is backed by the party establishment in all 21 counties and is the only GOP candidate in the race to qualify for public matching funds.
