Paterson welcomes walk-ins for vaccinations

Mayor, city health officials plead for more vaccines as mayor calls it ‘life-and-death matter’

Choke points in the vaccine distribution process are partly to blame for a rollout that’s slower than most residents and state leaders would like. Systems to register for appointments also lag, and many residents report spending hours online and on the phone.

But Paterson, one of the state’s hardest-hit cities during the pandemic, has a walk-in vaccination program that has accommodated nonresidents as well as residents. Correspondent Michael Hill reports.
