Parents group urges Murphy to allow remote learning

New Jersey Parents for Virtual Choice makes the case to Gov. Murphy

Despite the latest wave of COVID-19 infections in New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy is not backing down from his position to return students for full-time in-person learning this fall, with no option for remote learning. Late last week, however, the Department of Education circulated new guidance for districts, asking educators to prepare for the likelihood that some students will need to quarantine during the course of the year and require virtual instruction.

With the start of the school year just weeks away, some parents are petitioning the state to make virtual options available for all.
