No endorsement for Murphy or Ciattarelli by NJ’s second-largest police union

The Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Murphy for governor in 2017

In the election race for governor, money is just one part of the equation; endorsements can also be a factor. This week the state’s second-largest police union announced it will sit this year out, not backing either Gov. Phil Murphy or his Republican challenger, Jack Ciattarelli.

“Our 13 member board met for three and a half hours to review all questionnaires,” said union president Bob Fox Wednesday. “After reviewing all questionnaires and talking amongst themselves the legislative committee recommended to the board of directors to not recommend or endorse a Governor Murphy or Jack Ciattarelli.”
