This week is said to be a test of the new normal living under the shadow of a pandemic as kids return to school and many head back to work for the first time since March. Several school districts across the state,  including Chatham High School and Middlesex County Vo-Tech, quickly shut down in-person learning after confirming students tested positive for COVID-19.

Thursday the state Department of Health reported 507 new cases for a cumulative total of 195,414. With five new deaths a total of 16,014 New Jersey residents have been either confirmed or linked as probable fatalities due to the virus.
