As the state fends off a second wave of the coronavirus, government leaders are looking for ways to better protect workers so they can safely stay on the job.

Wednesday 1,682 new positive tests are being reported. Ten thousand new cases have been recorded in the last week alone. The state’s cumulative total is 232,997 with 14 additional deaths and 16,324 probable and confirmed fatalities. For the first time since July, hospitalized COVID-19 patients peaked above 1,000.
