First lady Jill Biden made her first official visit to New Jersey to promote the latest COVID-19 relief package known as the American Rescue Plan. She toured an elementary school in Burlington County and told teachers that the nation is “beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
The state says several groups can now get vaccinated. They include teachers, public and local transportation workers, public safety workers like probation officers and fire safety inspectors, migrant farm workers and those living in homeless shelters.
Monday, officials announced 2,468 new, positive cases and 23 new deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 744,499 cases in the state and 23,925 confirmed and probable deaths
