Marijuana is officially legal in the state of New Jersey. Monday, with just minutes to spare before a constitutional deadline, the governor signed three bills making good on a campaign promise and an overwhelming vote of approval by residents last November.
Gov. Phil Murphy says the state is making major progress in the fight against COVID-19, enough to begin lifting restrictions.
State officials announced 2,165 new positive COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 684,902 positive cases and 22,874 confirmed and probable fatalities in the state.
