The state now has a much clearer picture of just when this second coronavirus wave might peak. Health officials unveiled two models today being used in their forecasts and neither paints a rosy picture. Each model shows that our behavior, including mask-wearing and eliminating those big holiday gatherings, will make all the difference in a landslide of new cases. As high as 12,000 positive tests and between 6,000 to more than 8,000 patients hospitalized in the next two months.
Today Governor Murphy reported another 4600 positive test results for a cumulative total of more than 381,000 with 91 new confirmed deaths and more than 17, 500 total lives lost. Hospitalizations are now above 3500 for the first time since May.
