A day after the state moved up our universal vaccine eligibility timeline the federal government is shifting the national deadline too. It means come April 19th anyone 16 and older will be eligible to get a shot, but you’ll still likely have to compete for an appointment. Right now Pfizer has the only vaccine authorized for 16 and 17 year-olds.
The U.S. is now averaging about 3 million shots in arms a day. In New Jersey nearly 4.8 million doses have been administered and more than 1.8 million residents are now fully vaccinated, steadily climbing toward the governor’s summertime goal.
