GOP deals with major shake-up as former party chair Doug Steinhardt unexpectedly withdraws from the governor's race

Republican lawmakers quickly weighed in on Gov. Phil Murphy’s State of the State speech, hammering his record. They delivered not one, not two, but three separate responses this year, each hitting the same chords and demanding more fiscal reform and transparency from the Governor’s Office.

The responses, which went so far as to call 2020 the “Murphy Meltdown” year, came as a major shake-up was reported in the state GOP Monday night with former Republican Party Doug Steinhardt unexpectedly withdrawing as a gubernatorial candidate. Senior Correspondent Brenda Flanagan reports.
