NJ lawmakers, Congress advancing bill to help business and workers

The state Senate meets Thursday to consider several bills to help New Jerseyans manage through the COVID-19 crisis. One bill would provide payments to workers impacted by employment disruptions if they do not have paid leave.

In Washington, the U.S. Senate passed a safety net bill that to help Americans. The bill calls for expanded unemployment insurance, more money for food stamps and free COVID-19 testing. The passage comes as talks continue on a massive stimulus package designed to help the economy.
