New program aims to get benefits for LGBTQ+ veterans

Gov. Phil Murphy recently signed a law “in support of the effort to right the wrong done to countless New Jersey military veterans who were dishonorably discharged for no other reason than they were members of our LGBTQ+ community.”

The state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will now help these service members to get their discharge status changed so they can receive all the state and federal benefits to which those who served are entitled.
