New CDC guidelines spark debate over school reopening

There’s no indication that the state won’t continue with the push to get students back to the classroom for in-person learning in September. And new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may help hundreds of districts with classrooms too small for 6 feet of social distancing. According to the new guidelines, 3 feet apart appears enough as long as students wear face masks. Some health experts aren’t so sure. It’s up to the state to make the change.
