Murphy admin not entirely transparent about COVID-19, says AP

Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration touts its transparency in sharing COVID-19 information, including its daily data report. But it has not been entirely transparent about its pandemic efforts, according to a report from The Associated Press.

The AP says the administration has responded slowly to public records requests from the media for information about decision-making and spending. And in some cases, has denied requests. The AP also says that broad requests about spending have been answered, but some information has been withheld from the public.

Last week, Murphy said he might take some time to release certain records, but that his administration is committed to transparency.
