New Jersey is now at 4,402 total COVID-19 cases. That’s with 736 new cases overnight and a total of 62 fatalities. The numbers are sobering, but not surprising, according to Gov. Phil Murphy Wednesday. New Jersey remains the second leading state in the nation for the number of positive cases, behind only New York.

New Jersey Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli says she expects the coronavirus peak in New Jersey to follow New York’s — which is projected to hit in about 14 to 21 days. Wednesday he signed an executive order requiring all child care centers must certify by Friday that they will serve only children of essential workers — specifically first responders and health care workers. All other facilities must close by April 1.
