Many travel for Thanksgiving despite CDC recommendations

But AAA survey finds 88% of New Jersey residents plan to stay home

Despite rising COVID-19 numbers across the country, more than 3 million Americans traveled this past weekend. It’s the most since the beginning of the pandemic. And it’s despite the advice of infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which urged people to stay put this holiday season to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.

According to a survey by AAA, 12% of New Jersey residents plan to travel for Thanksgiving. Of the 88% who said they would stay home, 46% cited COVID-19 as the reason.
