U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew and challenger Amy Kennedy, the major party candidates in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District, are set to discuss the issues during a debate co-sponsored by NJTV and the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University on Thursday, Oct. 8.
Kennedy, a Democrat, is trying to unseat Van Drew, the Republican incumbent, in this South Jersey race that has drawn national attention because of Van Drew’s high-profile switch from longtime Democrat to the GOP after he was one of only a handful of Democrats to oppose the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
A Monmouth University Poll released Monday said Kennedy leads Van Drew.
