Legislators hope new bill will get Gov. Murphy’s OK, expand outdoor dining

Restaurant owners are fighting for their livelihoods, struggling to get through the pandemic and the long winter months that hamstring their ability to serve patrons outdoors.

This week, state lawmakers approved a bill aimed at easing restrictions and waiving permit fees for expanding outdoor dining. It comes after Gov. Phil Murphy had vetoed a previous version of the measure. Correspondent Leah Mishkin has the story.
