Judge Rules Christie Can Cut $900M from Pension Payment

Judge Mary Jacobson ruled that Christie can cut $900 million from this year's payment.

A victory for Gov. Chris Christie. A court ruled this afternoon that the governor can cut $900 million from this year’s payment into state pension plans and he can use that money to balance the budget.

More than dozen unions had filed suit seeking to block that move and claiming the executive order behind it, known as EO 156, was unconstitutional.

Judge Mary Jacobson ruled against them.
