Jobs abound, and worker wages are rising

For the second time this week we’ve learned the economy continues to churn out many new jobs. Employers created 225,000 new positions in January according to the government’s latest jobs report.

A Senate select committee has released its report on the Economic Development Authority and the state’s tax incentive programs. The panel is recommending no annual caps on the overall program, which is something Gov. Phil Murphy wants.

Johnson & Johnson plans to appeal a jury’s decision that it must pay $750 million to four plaintiffs alleging the company’s baby powder products caused their cancer.
