Interstate travel put on hold for youth sports to reduce COVID-19 spread

New Jersey Business & Industry Association CEO says the decision not only impacts athletes but the economy

Part of the new COVID-19 restrictions announced earlier this week for New Jersey will hit school and club sports. Starting  on Thursday, Nov. 12, there will be no more traveling out-of-state for indoor youth games and tournaments. It affects kids of all ages and all levels of play.

“It simply is not safe for teams to be crossing state lines to participate in indoor competition where there is a serious risk of spreading the virus,” Gov. Phil Murphy said. As Correspondent Leah Mishkin reports, many are viewing it as a setback, after nearly a year of waiting on the sideline.
