Hockey coaches react to new COVID-19 restrictions

Gov. Murphy announced that all indoor youth and adult sports must pause Dec. 5 through Jan. 2

Indoor youth sports have officially been benched as part of Gov. Phil Murphy’s plan to try to hold back the spread of COVID-19. In particular, hockey has been in the administration’s crosshairs.

Reports have revealed high noncompliance by clubs and teams both on and off the ice. But as Correspondent Leah Mishkin reports, it came as a surprise to many coaches and athletes who say the shutdown will have wide-ranging effects.
