Governor moves slowly on mask mandate for public

CDC’s mask-wearing guidance reignites political arguments

The latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is to mask up in areas with a high or substantial risk of transmission of the coronavirus. In New Jersey, 20 of the 21 counties fall into that category due to their high transmission rates.

While the CDC’s reversal has led to confusion for the public, it is also creating political pressure for Gov. Phil Murphy in an election year.
