Gov. Murphy is criticized for not reopening state government offices

Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle say state employees should be allowed back into their offices

As Gov. Phil Murphy touts the state’s progress and reopening, he faces criticism over not reopening state offices. Murphy ended all limits on indoor gatherings days ago.

With much of the state reopened, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle say state employees should be allowed back into their offices. And New Jersey Business & Industry President and CEO Michele Siekerka says it is especially critical to reopen One Stop Career Centers. The governor says the pandemic is not yet over and doesn’t believe that keeping state workers at home sends a mixed message.
