Experts fear COVID-19 hotspots will fuel flu ‘twindemic’

Infectious disease experts are advising New Jersey residents to get a flu shot now, before the flu season ramps up and possibly coincides with a second surge of COVID-19. Some fear that in current COVID-19 hotspots, where apparently fewer people are wearing masks or social distancing, a reluctance to get vaccinated may fuel a “twindemic” overlap of both viral diseases.
