COVID-19’s disproportionate damage to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

One advocate says the biggest threat to families right now is underpaid employees

Restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic have brought added challenges for those with developmental disabilities. Many are unaware of the pandemic in the first place, and don’t quite understand why certain activities are being limited. In all, it’s a confusing time this vulnerable population, dealing a blow to the mental health of individuals and their families. Correspondent Raven Santana reports.
