Ciattarelli introduces running mate, who quickly attacks Murphy’s record

Former Sen. Diane Allen lists failures of Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration

As supporters cheered outside a Burlington County agricultural center Wednesday, Republican candidate for governor Jack Ciattarelli officially introduced his running mate — 73-year-old Diane Allen. The widely respected former state senator from Burlington County said Ciattarelli called “oh-so-recently! This is not something that was in the works!” Allen ticked off a litany of state government failures under Phil Murphy’s administration.

Allen, a former Philadelphia TV news anchor, is a proven vote-getter and champion for women’s rights. Ciattarelli’s campaign hopes Allen can help attract more moderate Republicans and independent voters in this very blue state — and bring balance to a race where the Republican Party’s base of ultra-conservative Donald Trump supporters often drives campaign dialogue.
