Lawmakers seem prepared to pass a bill that is not perfect, leaving much up to Cannabis Regulatory Commission

After voters approved marijuana legalization on Election Day, lawmakers and the Murphy administration are grappling with how to carry out the voters’ wishes. Some thorny issues remain. One concerns how to tax legal weed. Another potential stumbling block is the addition of psilocybin, or “magic mushrooms,” to the legislation, with a provision that would reduce possession to a disorderly persons offense.
