Cannabis compromise bill expected to be voted on this week

It can be easy to overlook the reason many elected officials and others say they support legal cannabis: social justice

It looks like the Legislature is the closest yet to getting the lingering legal marijuana cleanup bill through a full vote and onto Gov. Phil Murphy’s desk this week, although the final version is anything but done.

Even though the bill got decent marks during Monday’s committee hearing not all lawmakers are sold on how it addresses penalties for underage use. It’s the linchpin to getting the legal market for adult recreational use of marijuana off the ground in New Jersey. Senior Correspondent David Cruz reports.
