The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Marcia Fudge, visited Camden County to announce a multimillion-dollar investment by the federal government to redevelop distressed housing and to boost economic growth for the city.

The $35 million grant will be used at Ablett Village, a nearly 80-year-old apartment complex in need of major upgrades. The money will be used to replace it with 350 new, energy-efficient units including nearly two dozen apartments set aside for low-income residents.
