Bringing COVID-19 vaccines to the workplace

A pop-up vaccination clinic opened at a Newark office building

A pop-up clinic for COVID-19 vaccinations was open Monday for anyone working at the Gateway Center in downtown Newark. The clinic was run by the building’s developer, Onyx, in partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health. Though only about a dozen people availed of  the clinic to get vaccinated, health leaders said it was worth it.

Their goal is to reach everyone they can, because the longer people go unvaccinated, the more likely the COVID-19 virus is to mutate again. That’s why the Hackensack Meridian Health system is requiring all its employees to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 15, or face termination.
