Biden nominates NJ trial lawyer to federal judgeship

President Biden is releasing another round of nominees to fill federal court vacancies. It includes Christine O’Hearn, a longtime New Jersey trial attorney. O’Hearn has been a partner at the firm Brown and Connery for nearly three decades, practicing labor and employment law. U.S. Sens. Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ) were quick to get behind her nomination and calling O’Hearn a champion for women in the workplace.

The state’s vacancies on the bench have been called a “judicial emergency.” Six district court seats remain unfilled, a number second only to California’s.
