Biden administration approves largest increase in food assistance benefits

Changes will go into effect in October

All 42 million Americans enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — formerly known as food stamps — will see a bump in their monthly assistance, effective this October. The per-person benefits will increase by $36 from the average $121 a month.
