Bergen County protesters clash with officers over jailed immigrants

About 150 angry protestors demanded the county cancel its contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency

A protest on Saturday to support hunger-striking immigrant detainees at the Bergen County jail in Hackensack turned physical, with clashes involving protesters and Bergen County sheriff’s deputies.

The protesters were demanding the county end its contract with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency for ICE detainees. Nine demonstrators were arrested. Senior Correspondent Brenda Flanagan reports.
