There’s a new rule for visitors to the Asbury Park boardwalk: no cigarettes, no cigars, and definitely no weed. On Wednesday, Asbury Park’s city council approved an ordinance to ban smoking of any kind on the popular boardwalk as well in the entryways and arcades. This extends an existing measure that prohibited smoking on the beach. The extended ban is set to go into effect in August.
