‘Asbury Band Aid’ virtual concert raises funds for local artists

The Shady Street Show Band kicked off and closed out Asbury Park’s first-ever digital concert benefit, Band Aid. It was a virtual showcase of local acts to support the Jersey Shore music and arts industry. It’s been more than a year since clubs closed because of the pandemic and bands stopped touring in-person.

Music groups like Dentist and Des and the Swagmatics performed on stage at the iconic Stone Pony, and a few set up nearby at the Wonder Bar. Donations are still being accepted at AsburyBandAid.com with all the proceeds going toward artist grants badly needed as venues remain shut and artists are out of work.
