An app that helps domestic violence victims build a case for court

State court data shows about eight out of 10 domestic violence cases were dismissed in 2014, often for lack of evidence. Documenting that evidence, however, can be difficult, so one survivor has designed an app to help victims build a case.

In a sit down interview, NJTV News Correspondent Joanna Gagis spoke with Sheri Kurdakul, the founder of VictimsVoice, about the difficulty of bringing a case against a perpetrator, the importance of documenting incidents as they happen and her partnership with a police lieutenant in Morris County.
