Overall life expectancy declines by a full year

Health experts continue to remind us that COVID-19 vaccinations are life-saving against the coronavirus and will prevent another deadly wave like we experienced this spring. With the full toll of the pandemic still to come to light, we learn from a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that this public-health crisis has shaved a full year from U.S. life expectancy, worse yet for people of color.
